His award-winning first documentary feature, Keeper of the Kohn (2005), was featured in film festivals, on PBS stations and is available on Hulu.com. Gaynes travels the United States showing the film as part of the “Hubble Roadshow” at planetariums, professional science conventions, amateur astronomy groups, and public gatherings. The introductory sound track to the movie was recorded by the well-known astronomer Neil deGrasse Tyson. Gaynes’ goal is to “foster a greater interest in science among the public and a connection between the public and the professional community. If efforts like that are successful, the resulting greater public interest in science in general and astronomy in particular could become the greatest legacy of the Hubble Space Telescope.”〔 ==References==
